The Language Empowerment Program focuses on providing recent immigrants, especially older adults, with spoken English Communication skills.  Saahas sees spoken English as a necessary survival skill and a means to empower the older adults as they navigate life in a new environment.  Breaking down communication barriers furthers community engagement, which helps fight boredom.  And, this is an essential skill should they ever need help in an emergency situation.

And learning can be a fun experience!  Sahaas launched “English Hinglish”, an online series, that teaches English through games, conversations, discussions, and of course, “English Vinglish”, the Bollywood movie.  The participants receive presentations for review as well as assignments of voice recordings on assigned topics, in addition to one-on-one sessions.
