Meri Awaaz
Meri Awaaz, meaning “My Voice,” is a story of teenage relationships conveyed through dialogue and diary entries. The goal is to provide parents with insight into what teen dating violence might look like among Asian American youth, as well as to present youth with a relatable story that can help identify patterns of emotional abuse.
Putting together the perspectives of numerous characters presents a more whole picture into the complexity of teen dating violence, with our story addressing four key concepts:
- What may Teen Dating Violence look like?
- What are some red flags in a relationship?
- How are friends and friend groups affected by toxic relationships?
- How does parenting style affect a victim’s ability to stay away from an unhealthy relationship and seek help?
