Saahas for Cause implemented its wellness project for South Asian immigrants in the months of April, May, and June. Focus groups and discussions were held on immigration, trauma, mental health issues, remedies, therapies, and resources in the community.
The purpose of this project was to reach out to the community to build community connections and reduce the stigma of mental health related issues. Saahas for Cause held discussions at beauty salons, senior groups, apartment buildings, and churches.
Saahas gathered participants of all six sessions at Nanking restaurant to celebrate the achievement of community connectedness through this project.
The event was marked by motivational speeches and Bollywood dances. Care packs were distributed.
The Saahas team was satisfied with this accomplishment. Survey results were very positive and showed that the community wanted Saahas to continue such efforts.
